Configure the Carrier Interface in Test Mode to Record Tracking Numbers Manually
If you want to track parcel shipment tracking numbers within Dynamics AX, but have not got the volume of orders to justify installing the FedEx, or UPS software, then don’t worry. You can track this information manually by turning on the Carrier Interfaces, but configuring them to run in test mode.
Configured this way, you will be asked to enter in the tracking information whenever the Packing Slip is created.
Hide The Parent Navigation Tabs To Tidy Up The Portal Navigation Bar
When you install the Enterprise Portals, by default, all of the sites are displayed within the navigation bar. With the CU7 release of Dynamics AX, a new feature was added that makes this even more useful, because you can set up global rules for the forms where you can tell it to send to particular e-mail purpose on the customer account rather than having to specify it by account.
By doing this you can have one Print Management rule, and then specify who receives the emails through the contact management on the customer record, making life so much easier.

The Cases functionality has also been added to the Product Management forms to allow you to create and associate cases to the Release Products, Routes, BOM’s and BOM Lines. Let Alerts Watch For Changes To Your Favorite Data
Everyone has a little bit of data within Dynamics AX that they are especially attached to and would rather that other people not tinker with because it would throw a spanner into their finely oiled routines. Rather than continually looking over your shoulder and rechecking the data, or even worse waiting for someone to change the data and then be sent into a tailspin days later, you can add alerts to your precious fields that will notify you immediately when a change is made to a field, and you can track down and fix the data right away.
Alerts are your own personal Informants within Dynamics AX.
Configuring the Status Bar To Show Just What You Need
The Status Bar within the Dynamics AX client is there to give you a quick way to see some of the configuration parameters without adding too much extra clutter to the client. But by default it may show you a little more information than you really need. If you like things to be tidy, and not see information that you’re not interested in then you may want to tweak the information that shows on the Status Bar through the System Options.
